Cyclone

Short Description:

A cyclone consists of a column-cone housing made of wear-resistant materials (polyurethane/stainless steel), tangential inlet, central overflow pipe, and underflow discharge port, with a diameter range of 50-1000mm, treatment capacity of 1-500m³/h, and separation particle size of 5-500μm (depending on cone angle design). Featuring separation efficiency ≥90%, pressure loss 0.05-0.3MPa, maintenance-free operation without moving parts, and multi-stage series connection for efficiency enhancement, it operates on the principle of centrifugal sedimentation. Materials enter the cyclone chamber tangentially at high speed (flow rate 5-15m/s), and under centrifugal force (200-2000g), high-density particles (e.g., ore, sediment) move toward the wall and discharge through the underflow port, while low-density fluid (or fine particles) overflow through the central pipe. Widely used in mineral processing (heavy medium separation), chemical solid-liquid separation (catalyst recovery), wastewater treatment (sand/mud removal), and food industry (starch classification), it is particularly suitable for high-efficiency classification and dewatering of high-concentration suspensions (solid content ≤40%).
