Decarbonator

Short Description:

The decarbonator consists of a carbon steel/stainless steel tank, packing layer (ceramic rings/plastic Pall rings), water distributor, and centrifugal blower. With a treatment capacity of 10-500m³/h, it achieves ≥95% CO₂ removal and effluent CO₂ ≤5mg/L, featuring low energy consumption (blower power ≤7.5kW), short contact time (5-10min), and pressure drop ≤0.02MPa. Carbon-containing raw water is evenly distributed onto the packing layer to counterflow with air from the blower. Using Henry’s Law, CO₂ solubility decreases, causing carbonic acid to decompose and CO₂ gas to escape, with purified water collected at the bottom. Widely used in decarbonization of power plant boiler make-up water (reducing resin load), RO system pretreatment (mitigating carbonate scaling), food/beverage water softening, and pH adjustment pretreatment of mining acidic wastewater, suitable for industrial water cycles requiring carbonate hardness reduction.
