Recently, Recently, Shanghai Hysunny Hi-Tech Materials Co., Ltd. (“Shanghai Hysunny”) successfully won the bid for the Desulfurization Wastewater Treatment Retrofit Project at CHN Energy Ningxia Yuanyanghu Power Plant. Following the retrofit, the project is expected to effectively address issues such as insufficient flow capacity of the reclaimed water pumps, ensure stable operation of the evaporation volume-reduction system, and improve the overall operating efficiency of the desulfurization wastewater treatment system at Yuanyanghu Power Plant.
Project Overview
CHN Energy Ningxia Yuanyanghu Power Plant is located in the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and serves as an important thermal power generation base in Northwest China as well as a supporting power source for the “West-to-East Electricity Transmission” program.
The power plant comprises two 660 MW units in Phase I and two 1,100 MW units in Phase II, with a total installed capacity of 3,520 MW. Its performance indicators, including coal consumption for power generation, coal consumption for electricity supply, auxiliary power consumption, and water consumption for power generation, are among the leading levels in China.
The designed desulfurization wastewater generation rate for the four units in Phases I and II is 75 m³/h. After concentration through an indirect-contact evaporation system, the wastewater is reduced to approximately 40 m³/h of high-salinity wastewater, which is then reused as make-up water for ash and slag conditioning.
The equipment supplied under this project is installed in the upstream section of the desulfurization wastewater concentration and reuse process, providing functions such as wastewater buffering and equalization. It provides stable feed conditions for subsequent treatment processes, including membrane concentration and evaporation crystallization.

With the successful award of this project, Hysunny will carry out equipment manufacturing and delivery in strict accordance with the procurement requirements and applicable technical standards, supporting the reliable operation of the desulfurization wastewater treatment system at Yuanyanghu Power Plant and contributing equipment support to the green and low-carbon development of the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base.
