Supporting the Datang Yuncheng 630°C National Demonstration Project | Shanghai Hishi Successfully Delivers Lime Powder Storage and Dosing System

Recently, Unit 1 of the Datang Shandong Yuncheng 630°C National Power Demonstration Project, the world’s first 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired power unit featuring 630°C double-reheat technology, successfully completed a 168-hour full-load trial operation and officially entered commercial operation.

As an equipment supplier for the project, Shanghai Hishi New Material Technology Co., Ltd. (“Shanghai Hishi”) has successfully completed the delivery of the lime powder storage and dosing system for the chemical reclaimed water and circulating water blowdown pretreatment systems.

The system comprises a pneumatic conveying system, pulse-jet bag filter, limestone powder silos, metering and dosing equipment, dissolution tanks, slurry metering tanks, slurry metering pumps, pipelines, valves, steel structural platforms, room-mounted bag filters, dust collection ducts, pressure/vacuum relief valves, equipment piping, pipe supports and hangers, and other auxiliary equipment.Limestone powder is transported to the site by tanker trucks and conveyed pneumatically into the storage silos. The reclaimed water pretreatment system is equipped with three limestone powder silos, each with an effective volume of 200 m³, while the circulating water blowdown pretreatment system is equipped with two silos, each with an effective volume of 75 m³.Each silo is equipped with a pulse-jet bag filter and a pressure/vacuum relief valve on the top, while an air-powder separator is installed at the bottom. The limestone powder is accurately fed into the dissolution tank through a variable-frequency metering and dosing system, where it is mixed to prepare a 5% lime slurry. The slurry then enters the slurry metering tank, where the amount of lime slurry added is automatically adjusted and controlled according to the pH value. In addition to automated chemical replenishment to the powder silos, the system supports fully automatic, unmanned operation and is equipped with an online water-flushing system. Covering the entire process from limestone powder unloading, storage, metering and preparation to final dosing, the system effectively regulates water hardness and pH levels, providing a stable and reliable source-water supply for boiler make-up water treatment and circulating water systems.

Project Overview

The Datang Yuncheng 630°C National Power Demonstration Project, developed by China Datang Corporation in Yuncheng County, Shandong Province, is the only 1,000 MW-class coal-fired power demonstration project approved at the national level during China’s 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016–2020).The project carries significant national strategic importance, including the implementation of major initiatives under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), particularly in advanced materials and collaborative innovation. The project consists of two 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical double-reheat generating units, with a main steam pressure of 35.5 MPa and a secondary reheat steam inlet temperature of 631°C. With a designed coal consumption rate of 256.28 g/kWh, the project has achieved four world records for comparable generating units: the highest steam temperature, the highest steam pressure, the highest efficiency, and the lowest coal consumption for power generation.

The project incorporates a number of innovative technologies, including a dual-unit regenerative heating system featuring converter-based control of auxiliary turbine speed and a deep-coupling flue gas waste heat utilization system between the boiler and turbine. It also marks the first engineering application of G115®, a new generation of domestically developed martensitic heat-resistant steel. With a 98.89% domestic equipment localization rate and a designed thermal efficiency of 50.05%, the project represents the first coal-fired power project worldwide to achieve a thermal efficiency exceeding 50%. Compared with conventional 1,000 MW-class generating units, the two units are expected to save approximately 208,000 tonnes of standard coal and reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 540,000 tonnes annually.

As an equipment supplier participating in this landmark project, Shanghai HYSUNNY will continue to focus on the development and manufacturing of intelligent industrial fluid equipment. By providing reliable and professional equipment solutions, the company is committed to supporting the safe and efficient operation of the power and energy industry, while contributing to the development of domestically controlled energy equipment and China's transition toward a greener and lower-carbon energy system.
